It is because of this piece that I now have a collection of houseplants that borders on unhealthy. The good news: I have an abundance of still life subjects. The bad: I have far too many african violets now.

This particular plant is a miniature variety, which it turns out requires a lot more water since there just isn’t as much soil to hold onto moisture. While my thumb is getting greener, I am pretty sure this piece is a certified one-of-a-kind in the sense that I’m pretty sure the particular violet I used for this painting has not made it. 😂
